desert home, love stoned

by Rachel Lynch in

Lost in the wild. Never knew where we are, never needed to know just where we were. Everything was alright. Breathing the blue air, taking in where I was. We showed up in a 1960s red van, hoped out and took our black boots to the sand. Smoking and swinging in our little desert outfits. We explored the sands with our cameras, telling stories and capturing memories with our lenses. Each unique to us, mountains crawling up and touching the sky. The sun beat down upon our skin, freckles began to show, and we drove from cactus grove to cactus grove, taking in all that we could. The sky was so wide, it was as Fitzgerald said, I was overwhelmed by the inexhaustible variety of life.

But overwhelmed as I was, I found hope in every turn. I realized that in me, there laid an invincible summer.

manhattan

by Rachel Lynch in , , ,

The hotel above and the street below. Apartment filled with the ghosts of the friends we used to know. In and out, going on and on. Stranded and strange right in the center of it.

Losing my touch, out of time. Hide from who you can. In this world, I found out that love leaves. Yes, I once had a great love. A big love. But I shook it from my hair, just like everything else. You say you've got nothing to hide, you and your secret life.

You've got your secret on. Wanting to live all the time, and then slip right out of it.

Don't look at the moon tonight, you can never be manhattan.

I'm working on a cocktail called "grounds for divorce." Combine whiskey and a wanderlust and you've got the stage for a playful evening. Getting uncomfortable and dancing around in the candle light to interpol. Melting ice and music. She's in love and she's lost.

i'm into you

by Rachel Lynch in , ,

"I got a feeling we are gonna win. Our bodies make it perfect and your eyes can make me swim. Then again everything seems new, I can barely hold my tongue, to say the least, I'm into you.

And our eyes are saying more than we can talk, and warmer than our bedroom sport. And your thighs are kisses from the outside, girl that's all I need.

I'll take you down the other road, to breathe in something more. I'll find it harder to ignore the things I want you for.

The rhythm was all I needed to hear, a woman can treat my heart. When I press up an ear up to you, I can hear the rhythm start, it's hard to tell our beats apart.

So I hope you're listening right now, cause I can barely hold my tongue the shit we do could warm the sun.

At night twisted in a melting fall and sleeping with the scratching claws. And your words, let me know you're feeling me and seeing all the things I see."

waiting on thunder love

by Rachel Lynch in

I wish you dreamed half as much as I do. I met you in the dead of winter. Your hands were as red as the skin on your lips. When you came into my studio from the pouring rain, it's like the Gods knew it was time to start things over again. And both of us, whether we knew it or not, were waiting on love. Silent motion. Late night, pour a little. I was bleached and you were dark as night. Sun-kissed skin for sun-kissed souls. You enjoyed watching life through the mirror of art, like myself. Playing around the edges and filling in the details as you wished. Leaving a blank space where there was nothing to fill. It was these little eccentricities that wrapped our souls together. We were running in life's youthfulness. I found a warm home in the cave of your chest, where the spirit runs through you. I hear it all in the center of my heart.

We are the makers of dreams, the dream makers. Magic in our eyes that we put on paper and manifest into reality. We live the stuff that starts in our heads.

Create a world of your own in which to dwell, flowers on the wall and glitter in your hair. A leopard rug to roll around in on the floor and a silver mirror fit for a blonde castle. Let your closet spill onto the bedroom floor, pinks furs, lace lingerie, and kitten heels. Let your bed drip layers of soft white blankets like acid in the winter. Keep as many plants as you can in your house, let them grow into a garden in your kitchen. In the fridge, only an endless supply of pink champagne.

Love adorns the walls here, and the East Coast sunset fills the room with sea salt and shades of pink. Pink spilling over the baby cactus in the window, the sun-drenched sheets and the rainbow shoes on the floor. This is a place of magic, where any dream can be pulled into reality.

Little rock n roller over on the East Side. Laced up thigh-highs and leopard everything. Three olive dirty Martini and a manicure. Rock n roll requests at beauty bar till all hours of the night, dancing around the discotheque. Channeling Blondie in more ways the one, the future of rock n roll and the nights spend running around New York City.

"Heart Of Glass" was Blondie's first single. And according to my dad (rock n roll guru) it crossed a lot of bridges for music. It fused rock and disco/dance sounds for the first time in the late 70s. Blondie and her band also had sort of a punk image at the time when punk rock was really popular - but they were not even adhering to the sound that necessarily went with that style.

In this post, I am wearing a full look from New York store, Rebel Circus! It's really nice for me to be able to work with brands that are not only representing New York, but also bringing e-commerce to a more punk rock crowd. Expect a lot more rock n roll goodness from us in the upcoming months.

Sugar high and stoned at home on a Friday night. She had a vibe and they started digging it. Daydreaming about Steve Miller Band and strawberry sweets. She made her home a world of her own, tripping on rainbows and sparkle stickers. Her diary was covered with Lisa Frank and the only cups she had in the house were champagne glasses. She thrived on smiles and playing dress up. Furs, crop tops and ironic sayings. Dancing the night away all on her own, gummy bears and champagne for dinner before a kaleidoscope sleep in a giant white bed. It was all a dream.

Hey shady baby, I'm hot. I'm sad. But I need a little sadness. Depression is like a motor for creation. I know you disagree. A surface as dry as Venus, hot enough to melt lead. Being with you is like being on a cloud of sulfuric acid that reaches 100 miles high. We're living in a time of massive change, like the Industrial Revolution on cyber acid.

LSD burst, psychedelic slip. It was the beginning and we were creating art, creating ourselves. Dressing up and manipulating light. There's more to reality than we've encountered. Pop culture keeps you catatonic, keeps you from searching beyond that which is laid out in front of you. Eenie, meenie, miney, moe you're the chosen one.
