say my name, and every color illuminates

by Rachel Lynch

you’ve got me waiting on the edge of the world. wine-filled mondays, my head on your chest. i search in you for the feelings i can’t get anywhere else. maybe that makes me selfish, maybe that makes me wild.

we spent the night painting on the floor, making love, chain-smoking, drinking wine and eating pasta. if every day was this dreamy, it wouldn’t matter. but if my life is a film someday, i hope this night is a scene with a thousand smokey lights. i was so content to watch you take drags from your cigarette and ponder. your denim and your long-hair. i can’t remember the last time i looked at someone the way i look at you.

i put our love on display that night, maybe i should of kept it to myself. i suppose i just wanted to share how i feel, i hope everyone has the pleasure of feeling this way someday.
