"at a certain point you can't have art unless you would die without it"

by Rachel Lynch

“at a certain point you can’t have art unless you would die without it.”

artists are like clouds, skimming the surface, fading in and out. tousled hair, tousled space.

the creator’s space is so personal, a never ending circle that weaves and changes with the season. it should inspire, and feel never-ending. artists don’t view the world through scarcity, they view it through unlimited opportunities.

they are the heros of their own stories.

serving fall looks

by Rachel Lynch

Lots of fall energy & a huge mix of a look here. My skirt and boots are by Dolls Kill, while my shirt is by Miu Miu. Bag is by Chanel, and my new favorite sunglasses are by Gucci. I like mixing high and low end to create a really unique look. It’s not something I consciously think about, but it’s something I gravitate towards. Get playful, say you have a high-end accessory, why not put it with some plaid pants or platforms?

I’m so into school girl, snakeskin, and plaids for fall.

alter-ego

by Rachel Lynch

the integrity of your potential. the dichotomy of your desires. you have to be in synch with something beyond you.

you pay for the pleasures of your flesh and heart, they drive you when nothing else can. nitsche said, “he who has a why can bear any how.”

my why drifts and changes with the season and with age. i am trying to get closer to truth. yesterday i watched myself as i was speaking, making sure not to lie (to myself or anyone else.) it was incredible how much energy it gave me, speaking my truth made me feel alive. it merged my two selves into one being who made sense.

paris en fleurs

by Rachel Lynch

My first Paris fashion week was a complete dream. It was surreal to be in my second favorite city in the world for the third time this year. I think I’d really like to get a flat there, at least for a little while.

There was so much energy in Paris, it was hard to not feel it. All the outfits, the people, the events - I flew home feeling more inspired than ever.

french riviera

by Rachel Lynch

Slid on down to the French Riviera for my very first time. It was nothing short of magic. I had always wanted to make art there because that’s where Picasso made a great deal of his art.

There’s something magical about the skyline and the sunrises here. It’s like the earth was kissed a thousand times, and you get to feel that affection on your skin. Most of the time I felt like I was floating, unable to grasp the world around me. It takes me a few visits to really digest a place.

But then I got to thinking, maybe I don’t need to grasp everything. Maybe I don’t need to have a stronghold on all that I encounter. Maybe just being there, seeing it, is enough.

pleine lune en fleurs

by Rachel Lynch

clearing my head and my heart, everything is magic and everything hurts. i have set myself up for defeat in ways i could have never apprehended.

the fallout is mine to have, and i claim it with my whole heart. there is nothing as graceful as having the courage to contend with your own debauchery.

perhaps my mistakes were meant to be, chiseled in gold and left for the swallowing.

my spirit comes alive in the flames, Hesita, herself, not even the waves could put the fire out.
