rollin' stone

by Rachel Lynch

Hey babes!

Sorry I haven't posted in almost a week. Nothing too new with me, still looking for a place to live and getting together my spring/summer wardrobe.

I'm currently reading Walden by Thoreau, one of my favorite thinkers. You'll see a lot of his ideas in the things I write and post on instagram. His work is incredible, and I feel like Walden is an important piece of work for the time we're in, with people moving away from traditional jobs and crafting their own lives. Some of his philosophies I have carried with me from the very beginning of my blog. I've never had an hourly job, and frankly I really don't believe in them. Thoreau said that he would rather do labor for a few hours to get what he needed, and be free from the commitment of having to show up somewhere everyday.

I'm also reading M Train by Patti Smith, not sure if I love it as much as "Just Kids" but hey, I'm willing to give the whole book a shot.

I've been listening to Duane Allman's Anthology, one of my favorite guitarists of all time. The Anthology was released in 1972 and has some of his best work with the Allman Brothers Band, as well as some rare solo stuff. If you can tell, a lot of my style lately has been influenced by this southern rock feel. Of course my outfits are always influenced by the music I listen to, you can tell when I'm going through a hip-hop phase, or a rock n roll phase just by what I'm wearing on my blog.

Anyways, I'm off to shoot the second part of my Nasty Gal festival collaboration now with some red roses in Central Park! I've got a shoot for a new boutique in LES and H&M tomorrow, so it's going to be a busy weekend.

I hope you all are doing wonderful, and just remember you can always message me on twitter/facebook/snapchat if you need someone to talk to.

I love you all.
