Antigua: Instagram Recap

by Rachel Lynch

Last weekend, I traveled to Antigua for a little getaway. We landed on the main island, not really sure what we were doing or where we were going. Our confusion was easily settled when we saw a lady from the resort holding a sign for, "Jumby Bay." We jumped into a van and drove a short distance to a boat that was ready to take us over to the island. We were greeted with huge smiles and a rum punch for the ride! After being a bit tired from waking up at 3am for our flight, we were buzzed before we even reached Jumby!

I've never seen water so blue in my life, it looked like something out of a movie or a Hemingway novel. The sky was crystal clear and everyone's energy was so beautiful. Antigua is a magical place full of portals and high frequencies. It was easy to see the beautiful auras of everyone on the island, and the energy of those who had just arrived shift into higher vibrational thoughts and frequencies. We grabbed a Pina Colada to keep the celebration going before being driven to our room on a little golf cart. We stayed on the south side of the small island in these beautiful villas.

I loved how place was entirely windows with a big four-post bed. We had our own little private section of the beach and a place to sit and have breakfast and champagne outside. The room was also complete with a bathtub and shower outside under palm trees! (Probably my favorite thing about it!)

We took ourselves on a little bike ride tour of the island before getting ready for the all white party that night. I wore a beautiful see-through lace dress from Nasty Gal with a white hat by Brixton. The party was lovely, we sipped cocktails outside before moving onto the beach to eat dinner. You could hear the tide washing in the dark, and candles lit the way to all the tables through the sand. I loved taking off my shoes to have dinner, hehe! After that we lit paper lanterns and let them fly away over the ocean towards the main island. We ended the night with some exploring before feeling completely exhausted and crashing into bed.

The next morning we slept in and ordered breakfast to the room. We sat outside and enjoyed fresh local fruit and almond milk cappuccinos. There were also all these silly yellow belly birds trying to pick at the sugar packets (they were our friends though.) I ate breakfast decked in gold chain necklaces and my new For Love and Lemons velvet sheer top with leather shorts, but soon learned that was too hot an outfit for the Caribbean. The afternoon was spent on the beach, and I braved my fear of getting in the ocean water with swimming and kayaking. After that, I of course proceeded to get very rum punch drunk in the sun. That night we had a beautiful dinner on the beach, all private and to ourselves. We ended the night with drunkenly slipping into our swimsuits and playing in the infinity pool.

The last day started with a picnic on the beach and ended with a beautiful wedding celebration. The bride had the most beautiful lavender aura the entire trip! She was so lovely and full of life. It was inspiring to be around so much high frequency and happy energy under the sun and moon.

Come Monday, everything was so beautiful upon waking, but I was excited and ready to head back to New York to enjoy a magical fall. The transition of the seasons are certainly my favorite, and a whole other kind of beauty.
