jesus fever

"It's much better to do good in a way no one knows anything about it." You know what I mean. Random acts of kindness behind closed doors, keeping quiet about everything you do.

There's an art to keeping to yourself. Especially now. There's an impulse in our culture to share everything we do, but that doesn't necessary bring any sort of fulfillment. It's much better in the shadow moments, between the secret and the soul. My encounters with people I could never recollect or give away to others, those experiences are mine. They are what fill me, inspire me to keep going.

If I find myself feeling unimpressed with people, I need only turn my viewpoint around. To focus on the other's perspective, that is high art.
"I am here to transact with you, but not necessarily relate to you," that way of thinking has let us to a world based on greed. We will see when we let go of ourselves, that others are beautiful, and so are their stories. It will be the quality of your compassion and non-judgement that keeps them around.

And someday, you will find value in that.
