East Village Amour

by Rachel Lynch in

I'm in amour with the black jacket from Zaful. It's so chic and easy to wear. I love it over my shoulders with a pair of black leather skinnes. In this look, I'm a wearing a floral-fitting mini dress by Zaful as well. How do you guys feel about the jacket over the dress? I know I love it with pants, but I think it's kind of chic over a dress as well -- you know, for a lunch or dinner date. How would you wear these two pieces? I think the floral dress might even look good with thigh-high black boots and the jacket as well.

Much love

almost blonde

A peek into my most recent wandering and adventure, St. Marks has always been a favorite of mine. This small section of street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue feels like one of the most alive places in New York to me. Before I lived here, I used to get a soy chai and wander with my disposable camera and snap pictures of all the buildings. Now I can walk out my door in a super funky outfit and I'm already there.

This coat is a synthesis of everything I could ever want in a coat, it reminds me of the #ihateblonde version of the coat Kate Hudson wears in the movie, "Almost Famous." One of my all time favorite films! She looked like such a cool character in it, and I guess that's how this coat makes me feel. That's the fun thing about wandering New York, you can dress up as anybody you want to be on any given day. Whoever said, "New York is real-world runway" was correct.

Here's a look I put together majorly with two items from Revolve. The first are these Vivienne Skinny Jeans I bought from Revolve by Siwy. They're so awesome, they are jeans on the top but leather on the legs. So it looks like a leather pant, but all the comfort and flexibility of a good quality jean in the waist and butt. Next, is this black and white jacket by I purchased from Revolve by Line & Dot. It's super puffy, but chic. It's got little vegan leather cuffs with cute buttons on them!

Finally, I topped this look off with a fab pair of Zero UV sunglasses and this horn necklace I am obsessed with fromThe Blue Hen. Also, my tee is a cheap black one by Brandy Melville. I love their stuff!

His & Her Fiend

Ain't no worries, darling. There are things that make the pain go away. Ain't no rules to this life.

Funky shit. Hooked from the jump. That feel good through your skin. That blood in your heart, feel it pump. That wandering all night. Enjoy watching life through the mirror of art, then wander down another street to find it superfluous. She fought as hard as she could against life. Somehow, it always kept her, pulled her back in for another day. She strove against it, but still hoped for something from it.

“In a nervous and slender-leaved mimosa grove at the back of their villa we found a perch on the ruins of a low stone wall. She trembled and twitched as I kissed the corner of her parted lips and the hot lobe of her ear. A cluster of stars palely glowed above us between the silhouettes of long thin leaves; that vibrant sky seemed as naked as she was under her light frock. I saw her face in the sky, strangely distinct, as if it emitted a faint radiance of its own. Her legs, her lovely live legs, were not too close together, and when my hand located what it sought, a dreamy and eerie expression, half-pleasure, half-pain, came over those childish features. She sat a little higher than I, and whenever in her solitary ecstasy she was led to kiss me, her head would bend with a sleepy, soft, drooping movement that was almost woeful, and her bare knees caught and compressed my wrist, and slackened again; and her quivering mouth, distorted by the acridity of some mysterious potion, with a sibilant intake of breath came near to my face. She would try to relieve the pain of love by first roughly rubbing her dry lips against mine; then my darling would draw away with a nervous toss of her hair, and then again come darkly near and let me feed on her open mouth, while with a generosity that was ready to offer her everything, my heart, my throat, my entrails, I gave her to hold in her awkward fist the scepter of my passion.”

Here's a little winter fur look I styled from Missguided. I decided to pair this baby bear brown fur over this AMAZING playsuit! I literally love this thing! It's like a sexy little scuba diver barbie suit! It's made of neoprene. It makes me feel fabulous and like a doll at all times.

I paired it with my wildfox cat-eye sunglasses and my YRU white stack platforms! (Which I'm about to need another pair of because I wear the shit out of them!)

Anyways, I hope you are all enjoying these few exciting days before Christmas! I know I am <3

How would you know? When everything around you's changing like the weather of a big black storm. And who would you turn to? Had I a ghost, a shadow at the most. But I wouldn't trouble your mind with a childish design of how it all should go. But I love you so. When it all comes clear, when the wind settles, I'll be here you know.

You said the hours were ours. Darling, I'll grow weary, happy still, with just the memory of your face.

Gracious goes the ghost of you. And I will never forget the plans and the silhouettes you drew here.

If you're like me, this is the time of the year where your stressing over having enough holiday dresses. There are literally so many events, parties, and things to have a bomb ass fucking dress for. I'm scrolling through the pages of Nasty Gal and Revolve trying to decide what to order every other hour on my phone.

Luckily, Motel Rockshooked up with me to bring you guys some dope holiday dress ideas. The first dress I selected from their holiday selections is this little sequin number. I'm really into how it's got long sleeves but a nice dip in the back. It's a good sexy compromise. The Gabby Sequin, it's called! I love the sexy plunge back, certainly my favorite part of the dress (aside from the sequins, aside from the color!)

Also what I've been doing this holiday, which is a little interesting, is pairing fancy dresses with more street/platform/casual shoes. It's a nice mix of party and play (not to mention makes long walks to the subway so much nicer.) Here I am wearing the Viva Mondo Creeper! They are so so stellar. I love wearing them casual and for a night out. Literally the studs and the platform, I couldn't find a shore more me if I tried!

How are you guys doing with dressing for the holidays? Any advice or things I can help with?

Upper West Side

by Rachel Lynch in

IMG_7690 IMG_7718 up1 up2 up4 up329Here's a cool look I shot with Phil on the Upper West Side a few weeks back. I'm wearing a really cool leopard jacket from Missguided and these super funky shoes form Kat Macoine.

I actually bought the shoes for Fashion Week, but I didn't end up wearing them. Nasty Gal was carrying them, so I bought them from there. Sadly, you can't get them on their anymore.  The heel is super cool cause it's square. I don't own any shoes with a heel like that, so I had to have them!

Anyways, that's all I have for today guys! Tomorrow I'm going to be uploading a super special editorial shot in my new home again so get stoked! (Oh and tomorrow is Friday, so duh! Be excited!)
