sun-crossed lovers

by Rachel Lynch

Sun-crossed lovers take to the beach. The baby-blue sea in their direct vision. Tiny hands clasp and toes sink into the sand. Lavender lips and lunch by the pool. They escaped to the Beverly Hills Hotel, making a getaway in their own city. They built a tent of white blankets in the hotel room and spent the morning sipping lemon water in the cabana by the pool. It was a sunny retreat, meant to forget, mean to resolve. Brining their broken hearts back together again under the heavy sunlight.
