now's the only time i know

by Rachel Lynch

"Walking out into the sea. What's forsaken, I do not need."

Bright blonde hair and eyelash. Reappear, in a flash. There is more I'd like to know.

Walking upon the shores, I have been here many times before. It would be too easy to say I feel invisible. But I am the same as the sands and the sea.

The day breaks in my heart. Sitting upon the shore, I burn sage and palo santo. I remember souls past. The day was so long. Spirit walks. I cover my hands with drawings and my chest with crystals. Maybe I will dream again.

6:15, then I'm gone. Quiet walk into the sea. Through the waters, through the sands.

Now's the only time I know.
