i follow rivers

by Rachel Lynch

"What's outside is within me"

There is a place in my mind that knows no lows. Never had to come up for air. I follow rivers, streams, and heartache. I've listened to the inner-workings of my spirit, it howls for truth.

Lately, I find myself returning to nature. Perhaps because I have found I am not indestructible, and I am searching for something more. The quiet that nature gives me is everything I need. I have never seen such truth and perfection, and I doubt I ever will. What God has given us is so perfect, how did we get so removed?

The human spirit knows truth when it appears. There is nothing secret and there is nothing you cannot access. It has always been there and always will be.

teen spirit

"Hey glory child, don't you worry. I can see your skeleton so clear."

Hey glory child, I see you there. Shaking in your boots and singing in your fear. Call your phone on the late night. I recall your soul and tastes like, gardens, flowers.

Sometimes I cut myself open, just to see if it's me. Bite my lips and breath as the blood drips.

Then it's time for the evening. Pain reliever, fever reducer: and I forget all about the details of my day. Drinking champagne in your kitchen and an open bag of chips. We can't decide what to wear, so we throw everything into the living room. Piles of fur on the floor and I pretend to be a bear.

But really, we've got no where to go and no one to be. Shooting stars and no one will actually see us. The night is only dependent upon our mind. Dancing to music and forgetting words we've written.

We're just a little bit free.

"only do what you find beautiful"

Saw the sunset and spent the night under the stars. It was nice, nothing I've ever known. And all we heard was the sound of the wind through the trees.

Howl at the moon. I always believed there was something more. I went through life so articulate, but couldn't find the words for what I was looking for.

Dying from daydreams in my bedroom. I never surrender to happiness. I am always looking for the next adventure. Everything is never enough and it is all too much.

All of my fear and demons were screaming, but I give thanks through all my ups and downs. Be bold, for change does not happen on it's own.

so high

by Rachel Lynch

"i know you ain't a drug, but you get me so high"

Taking deep breaths, stretching across the floor and relieving my stress. I could get real used to you. I know you ain't a drug, but you get me so high.

Speeding up my heart then relieving all my stress. Taking deep breaths. Just one bite and we up above it all sprawled on my living room floor.

The day and the night turn into one, you're my drug.

"i have floated here on streams with you"

I have floated here on streams with you, faded colors in the rain. We see through the exchanging of words, love for one another. We have played along side a million springs, fresh flowers and faded lips.

He draws me in from the periphery, softest fingers and the strongest gaze. Ocean washes me in its truffle waves.

Old love that appears in shapes that renew and renew forever. Love never leaves, it just changes form.

Candy Land

dans la maison de mes rêves, étais encore un enfant

Sparkle in your eyes. I swear I'd throw myself to the sea if God promised you'd be inside. Deliver me milk and catch me starfish. Rainbows drip over our New York castle and color slips inside. It fills our tea cups with the smell of roses and our bathtub with the deepest lavender.

It paints yellow on our walls and blue clouds in our bed. Our orchids grow in through the downstairs windows. The ends of the earth whispered to me, not long now. So dreamy.

zero uv spring lookbook

by Rachel Lynch

East Village hangs in new Zero UV shades <3

Last week my good friend Brittanny and I shot a really fun lookbook featuring some new Zero UV sunnies.

The day started with brunch at Mud, avocado toast, mimosas and all. Then we headed out to shoot, where really we just goofed around for a little over an hour. Making fun of oursevles, and other people... haha. And after being stomped numerous times, and me breaking out in rap songs 67 times, we finally finished and met our friends at V Bar for happy hour. Where we continued to sit in the window for 4ish hour and just laugh and eat fries and make snapchats. I have such fun loving friends.

As far as the sunglasses goes, I tried to pick for you guys what I would wear on a regular basis. The first pair is a black, round circular shape that I would wear with big maxi dresses, etc. The second pair is my fav style of aviator that looks edgy and badass for summer (especially with jean shorts!) The last pair is a fun pink style, I love the flat top to them.

Hopefully you all enjoy and pick up some new sunglasses for summer here.

in the cherry blossoms

by Rachel Lynch

"A flower was blooming inside the garden of my mind. The call of youth burned and I needed a good defense."

Sullen girl in the garden of my mind. In the blue of my oblivion the sky felt like a giant dome, it swept me in like I was sitting at the bottom of a snow-globe. I stared upwards, helpless in it's vastness.

Oh, it's evil babe. How you fill your space so sweet, like a cherry blossom in spring. If I let you get too close, you'll set your spell on me.

So I'll lay back into the fallen petals, head up, contemplating the sky. Simultaneously overwhelmed and pleased by the inexhaustible variety of life.

RPZL X I Hate Blonde Pop of Color Launch Party

by Rachel Lynch

So much love and good vibes at my party with RPZL <3

On Monday, I hosted an event with RPZL to launch their new Pop of Color extensions. We filled their all-white sparkling salon with friends and clients alike.

Glasses of champagne and purple glitter cupcakes were there to great the guests at the entrance. A beautiful dj wearing a flower crown and blue and red color extensions stood to the left. The music flowed into the evening as everyone socialized and sat down to get a pop of color extensions put in their hair.

I ran around like a crazy blonde snapping polaroids and making sure everyone was happy, while simultaneously absorbing all the love from my friends. Not only am I so grateful for the amazing supportive friends I have here in the city, but I'm also so thankful for the women that own the RPZL salon. Although our relationship has not been long, they have treated me like a sister and equally strong business-minded woman.

It's so inspiring to see successful women starting their own companies and thriving. All of the girls at RPZL are hard-working big-hearted babes. Their kindness and enthusiasm have been nothing short of amazing to be around.

If you're in NYC and need an amazing hair blow-out experience (yes, every one of their clients gets champagne and a glitter cupcake) or maybe you're looking to get more permanent type extensions, get your booty to RPZL.

when we were on fire

by Rachel Lynch

"Whatever I have tried to do in life, I have tried with all my heart to do well. And whatever I have tried to destroy, I have destroyed with everything in me."

Whatever I have tried to do in life, I have tried with all my heart to do well. And whatever I have tried to destroy, I have destroyed with everything in me.

He said, "it's getting harder to hold you." Burning out and sleeping on the floor. Cold to the bone, so alone I can taste it.

And I know that we're losing light, our love is dying. We backed down like two falling stars in the night sky. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. But life got in the way.

Take me back to when we were on fire. When we knew that love meant we're gonna love when there's nothing in it for us. Take me back to messy sheets under the sphere of a violet night sky.

And we can do that again, but we can't keep our ashes. You can't put a foundation on resentment.

Let's light it up, like when we were on fire.
