highway to hell

Okay, so maybe my Dad didn't give me his good looks; Being about 15 shades darker than me and all...but he did give me one thing, his excellent taste in music. Growing up in Detroit, my dad spent his youth sneaking into the back of KISS concerts and running wild endless miles to Led Zeppelin for his cross country team. As a child, I remember cursing in his car with the top down, drinking Coca-Cola to Bowie, Doobie Brothers and ACDC. And before we would go out for a run, he would get us pumped up with John Cougar Mellencamp and All-American tracks. In a little over a week, my Dad will be done with his cancer treatment and hopefully all better! It's been a tough few months, but I guess it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll.  To celebrate his completion of treatment, he's finally going to come visit me in New York. We'll go on a long run through Central Park, share a chocolate milkshake at a Manhattan Diner and order room service at the Ritz Carlton. No wonder I want to be just like my Dad, no matter how many people I meet in New York, he's still the coolest guy I know.

He's my best friend for life, for all of those mourning the loss of their Dad's and loved ones today I am truly sorry. I feel so fortunate to still have my papa with me here on earth.
